The Who – John McCormack, Performance Coach
The Why – Because the chance to work with people and help them get better at what they do using the principles and ideas behind sports psychology is one that John thrives on.
The How – John has a great calm and challenging style (maybe as a result of his recent career in amateur boxing!). He constantly does a great job of making sure he’s responding to how the people he’s working with are thinking and feeling. Having read a situation, he does a superb job of drawing on his great experience and knowledge of psychology to communicate a message in just the right way.
Never Stand Still – John constantly looks to challenge himself, from both within and outside of the work he does. He’s a keen amateur boxer and triathlete (not on the same day, although don’t write it off) and he’s recently been developing himself with a Masters degree in Sport Psychology.
the who:
Quite simply, we're a team of very
different people from very different
backgrounds - sporting, corporate,
academic - who all share a common
view of the world. When it comes
to high performance, success is a
matter of choice.
the who:
We know we’re nothing without our customers. Their incredibly hard work on the road to high performance is what turns knowing into doing, whilst getting us all excited when we discover how good they really can be.
Some of the best known brands and businesses in
the world give us the privilege of working with them.
A few of them are listed here. If you’d like to talk to
our customers about their experience in working with
us, let us know and we’ll put you in touch directly.
Hall of Fame
Our purpose is to help the corporate world to think, prepare and perform like world class athletes. Being world class involves demonstrating qualities that epitomise the elite and make them different from the ordinary. These people do things like demonstrating the desire to improve by:
- craving feedback and then acting on the bits that will make the most difference
- practising new skills and behaviours
- being willing to make mistakes or encounter setbacks, learn from them and bounce back stronger than before
- welcoming challenge and competition
We’re privileged to know some people who, in our view, are world class in their chosen field. This section of the website will celebrate these people and share their stories.
