Sir Alex on controlling the controllable, learning and trusting

Sir Alex Ferguson, long time highly successful manager of Manchester United, before tonight’s game with Real Madrid who include star man, and former United player, Ronaldo:

“My biggest concern is that he turns up. What you do expect when you play against a team with Ronaldo in it, you expect problems during the night. We have to try and contain it as best we can. It won’t be easy because he does it every week; it’s no accident with the lad. Hopefully, the experience young Rafael [Manchester’s defender] had in the first half in the first leg will help him. He will be given the same task, but I don’t think it’s one I should fear. If we go about worrying about the damage Cristiano Ronaldo can give us, we will forget some of the things we can do ourselves. I think we must trust them [the United players], as we always do. We trust these players. They all trust each other, that’s why they have had continued success over a long, long period.”
